Inspired by the intricate beauty of crystallography, Compass is a light sculpture conceived as an instrument for light to play with.
The extended dimension of the brass profiles allows the light beams to reflect repeatedly within the lamp body, before being projected into the surrounding environment. The multiple colours displayed are the result of carefully calibrated optics and brasswork, as the lightsource is a pair of single-colour integrated LED. A light painting made of decorative patterns that extend beyond the physical, revealing the invisible harmony governing the natural world.
